Technical Project Manager Toronto Remote

Modern Campus, a company empowering over 2,000 higher education institutions through its learner-to-earner lifecycle platform, is seeking a Technical Project Manager. You will lead and coordinate complex cross-functional technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with critical business objectives.

While this role is project management-focused (90%+ of your time), it requires a strong technical acumen to effectively communicate with and facilitate discussions among engineering and IT teams. This is a full-time, remote-first position based in Toronto, ON.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Lead and manage cross-functional projects across software development, infrastructure, IT, and customer support.
• Delivery & Methodology: Drive project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using Agile or hybrid project management practices. Projects will include major cross-functional technology refactoring, M&A integration, and managing product roadmaps.
• Risk Management: Identify and resolve project risks, blockers, and dependencies to ensure successful and timely delivery. Partner with technical teams to identify solutions for issues impacting timelines.
• Stakeholder Management: Define project scope and success criteria, and prepare/present project updates to senior technology leaders and cross-functional business partners.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, risk logs, and presentation decks.

What You Offer

• Experience: 5+ years of project management experience in a software or technology-driven environment.
• Technical Acumen: Strong technical understanding to effectively grasp engineering, infrastructure, and IT concepts.
• Complexity Management: Proven experience leading complex cross-functional technology projects and managing intricate dependencies.
• Project Tools: Strong organizational skills with experience in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana, or Smartsheet).
• Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently interact with senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (and/or certification) in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• PMP, CSM, or other relevant project management certification.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base Salary Range: $80,000 – $120,000 (for full-time US and Canada positions).
